Master of Business Administration International

Overview of the Postgraduate Business Administration programmes
LCA now offers three postgraduate business administration programmes from Anglia Ruskin University: the MBA International; the Postgraduate Diploma [PGD] in Business Administration and the Postgraduate Certificate [PGC] in Business Administration.
The Postgraduate Certificate and the Postgraduate Diploma are both qualifications in their own right as well as  progression stages towards the full MBA.
All three of these postgraduate programmes give students the opportunity to enhance their career prospects and gain knowledge , insight and understanding of a wide range of business functions.
The programmes are designed to shape students into more effective managers, who will then be better equipped to lead an organisation in the constantly changing business environment of the 21st century. As such, the programme content includes the latest thinking and research on management at the strategic level.
The cultural diversity of the students on the course and the international dimension within the course content adds an invaluable element to the study experience at LCA. This gives students taking up management posts greater confidence in operating effectively within a competitive international environment..

International students wishing to travel to the UK on a student visa
The UK Border Agency (UKBA) requires that international students obtain the appropriate Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS) from a Tier 4 institution in order to undertake full time studies in the UK. The UKBA monitors Tier 4 institutions and students to ensure that everyone is complying with the UKBA rules and regulations. Prospective students should visit: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/studyingintheuk/ for the latest information.

The Postgraduate Certificate comprises of four modules of 15 credit points each. Students have a range of optional modules that they can select so that they can focus on their areas of particular interest.
To obtain the Postgraduate Diploma a student is required to pass Global Business Strategy and seven other 15 credit point modules
To achieve the MBA a student must successfully pass the Capstone module, the Leadership, Power and Morality module, the Global Business Strategy module and eight other 15 credit point modules.
Assessment
Students are assessed primarily but not exclusively through end of term examinations. The MBA Capstone module is examined on the basis of a case study.
Course content
These postgraduate programmes cover four main themes:
·         Finance
·         Marketing
·         Human Resource Management
·         Business Strategy

Capstone Module - strategic case study for the MBA programme
Rather than the traditional end-of-course dissertation which many MBA courses include, this MBA has, as its pinnacle, a real-world case study.
The case study is given to students approximately one month before the end of period examination. Students then spend time researching the organisation prior to the exam. Students are allowed to bring their research on the organisation into the three hour examination
Students are assessed on the examination plus previous research which is submitted with the exam script. It is our view that the analysis of an organisation provides an opportunity for students to draw on knowledge and experience gained from previous studies and to show their ability to cope with incomplete information in a way that reflects situations likely to be faced in subsequent careers.
