Overseas students wishing to travel to the UK on a student visa
The UK Border Agency (UKBA) requires that overseas students obtain the appropriate Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS) from a Tier 4 institution in order to undertake full time studies in the UK. Working in the UK during your studies
If you applied for entry clearance or leave to remain on or after 6 April 2010 you will normally be able to work a total of 20 hours paid employment per week during term time. All students can normally work full time during term breaks. These requirements could change and the UKBA monitors this requirement diligently therefore please refer to the UKBA website for the most up-to-date information. Please note that student visitors cannot work in the UK.

BA (Hons) Applied Accounting
This degree has been designed to offer flexible, intellectually stimulating courses for those with an interest in becoming an accountant after graduation. For details of the modules included in this degree, click here.
This undergraduate course is offered over three different course lengths. There is the traditional three year degree comprising of two semesters a year course with a holiday period at the end of each academic year. There is a fast track two year degree comprising of three semesters a year with no holiday periods incorporated into the course design and there is a three year three month programme for those who do not have the entry qualifications for direct entry to the three and two year degree programmes.
Course entry requirements for the 3 year 3 month degree
Students must:
• have completed an educational course equivalent to GCSEs.
• have sufficient command of English (IELTS 5.5 or equivalent) to benefit from the course.
Structure
The first three months consists of two modules:
• Managing Finance and Technology.
• Business Communication and Study Skills. This module has a particular emphasis on improving a student’s English skills.
When a student has successfully completed the first three months of their chosen degree course they will join their fellow students on their Level 1 studies.

Course entry requirements for the 2 and 3 year degree course
Students must:
· have the equivalent of two A levels and three GCSEs including English and maths at grade C or above.
· An I.E.L.T.S. score of 6.0 or higher (or equivalent) instead of a GCSE in English.
Course length and start dates
LCA offers students the option of studying over two or three semesters each year thereby giving students the opportunity to complete their degree in two or three years. Students study two papers per semester.

Exemptions
Exemptions for some papers including the whole of Levels 1 and 2 of the degree, are available for part and fully qualified ACCA, CAT, CIPFA and CIMA students. Exams
The degree is assessed primarily through end of semester examinations.
The assessment for the Business Analysis paper is based on a case study.
