The following terms and conditions apply for all courses run by London College of Accountancy. Students should also refer to the section for ‘All Students’ plus either ‘For Full-time Students only’ or ‘For Part-time Students only.’
For All Students:
- For ACCA and CAT Full Time courses, a minimum deposit of £1,000 (or full fees, if less) is required at the time of booking for courses up to 12 months. For courses over 12 months, a minimum deposit of £1,500 is required. The balance of fees due is payable prior to the start of the first course.
- For Access, Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes validated by Anglia Ruskin University, a minimum deposit of £1,000 is required at the time of booking for courses up to 12 months. For courses over 12 months, a minimum deposit of £1,500 is required. The balance of course fees due in respect of the length of course duration booked is payable prior to the start of the first course except for postgraduate courses, other than the MSc, where an instalment facility is available. See point 4 of the 'For Full-time Students only' section of these terms and conditions for further details of payment in instalments.
- For all programmes referred to in paragraph 2 above the College will assist the student to register with Anglia Ruskin University once enrolment and registration with the College have taken place. It is the student’s responsibility to register with Anglia Ruskin University through the College. Once registered with Anglia Ruskin University, the student must ensure at all times that their personal details and exams progress are up-to-date and accurate by accessing their account via the University website.
- Where examination and other fees are payable to Anglia Ruskin University then the College will collect the fees from the student and pass them on to the University. Here the College is not acting as an agent for either the student or Anglia Ruskin University. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that financial and academic deadlines set by the College and/or Anglia Ruskin University are met.
- Once Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (“CAS”) have been issued to third parties confirming full-time student status, no refunds or course transfers or usually course deferrals are permissible other than in the instance of visa refusal (refer point 8 “For Full-Time Students Only”). At the discretion of the College, course deferral may be allowed for students who are still overseas awaiting their student visa provided the College is informed of the delay no later than two weeks after the scheduled course commencement date the student has booked for. An administration charge of £50 will be applied by the College per deferral. A maximum of one such deferral will be allowed, after which all monies paid to the College will become the property of the College. The College will refuse deferral for visa students where it has reason to believe students have entered the UK on a student visa and are not attending the College.
- All deposits are non-refundable, and cannot be transferred to other students.
- For 1 Day Revision Courses, the Oxford Brookes Mentoring Programme, all Examinations conducted at the College including computer-based examinations/assessments, hostel accommodation bookings and all other courses not mentioned in Points 1 and 2 above, payment is required in full at the time of booking. Fees paid are non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Bookings for the Oxford Brookes Mentoring Programme relate specifically to the next submission period (as specified by Oxford Brookes University) after the booking date. Bookings cannot be carried forward to a subsequent period. The fee for this Programme includes 3 meetings with a mentor. Where a student is unable to attend a meeting which has been arranged with the mentor, a minimum of 2 days’ notice must be given. Where 2 days’ notice is not given, the College will count the meeting as having taken place, and any extra meetings required as a result may be subject to a supplementary charge.
- Where the fee has been paid in full, a refund less the deposit can be made, provided written notice is received by the College at least two weeks prior to the start date of the first paper booked (except for courses covered in Points 5 & 7 of the ‘All Students’ section where no refund can be made). After this date (2 weeks prior to the start date of the first course booked) neither complete nor pro rata refunds can be made.
- A charge of £50 will be made to students for all dishonoured payments. The College reserves the right to report offenders to their professional body.
- The College reserves the right to dismiss any student at any time for behaviour which is deemed to be unprofessional, inappropriate or disruptive to other students. No fees will be refundable for any student dismissed under this section.

- The College reserves the right to change any aspect of a course including availability of the course, course dates, curriculum, tutors and study material at any time.
- LCA reserves the right to obtain the student’s examination performance from the appropriate examining body. This is purely for ascertaining pass rates unless otherwise stated.
- All fees quoted by LCA are inclusive of VAT and study material.
- All course fees quoted by LCA exclude amounts payable to the professional or relevant body for student registration, exemptions, graduation certificates and examination entries.
- It is the student’s responsibility to register with the appropriate examination body and to enter all relevant examinations and to be in good standing with that body.
- Students must be at least 16 years old to study at LCA.
- Fees are published separately for each term and are payable by all students studying at the time unless they have paid full fees prior to the publication of the new fees. Paying a deposit does not prevent any fee increase being applied.
- Students are expected to conduct themselves at all times in a manner which demonstrates respect for LCA and its staff, fellow students and property. Breaches of the student code of conduct can amount to gross misconduct, which may lead to expulsion. No refunds will be paid by LCA where a student has been expelled.
