Ravi Gill FCCA - Managing Director and Founder of LCA

Ravi's teaching career in accountancy started at a public sector college in 1987, where he was ACCA Course Director and pioneer of ACCA weekend courses for the corporate market. In 1990 he moved into the private sector, where he was founder and Managing Director of the Professional Training College until 1997, when it merged with Emile Woolf College. He remained as Director of ATEW until he decided to put his many years of teaching and business expertise into founding London College of Accountancy in 2000.
When he's not focusing on the needs of LCA's accountancy students, Ravi enjoys a little sporting activity, normally badminton or hill walking, and is also known to relax over fine food and wine with his family and friends!
Steve Lumby MSc

Steve began his professional life as a management trainee with Heinz. He then spent over ten years as a lecturer in Corporate Finance at London School of Economics before moving into the private tuition sector where he has been lecturing to ACCA students since 1985, both here in the UK and around the world.
In addition to lecturing, Steve spent 3 years on the ACCA panel of examiners, and is author of the textbook ‘Investment Appraisal and Financial Decisions’ (now in its 7th edition).
Relaxation time for Steve is spent in the great outdoors, often on horseback, or at exam time, sitting on a beach in the sunshine!
Doug Beardon LL.M, FCA, FCCA, AIIT

After qualifying as a chartered accountant and obtaining post qualification tax experience at Coopers & Lybrand, Doug joined the University of East London as a lecturer on taxation, and has since spent significant time teaching in the private sector also. He is a regular lecturer on practitioners' courses run by the ACCA, an examiner at a number of universities and for 10 years was tax and audit examiner for the Association of Accounting Technicians.In addition to his lecturing responsibilities, Doug is a partner in a professional firm.
When he takes off his accountancy hat, Doug practises martial arts and climbs rocks in his spare time.
David Benjamin FCCA

David has been lecturing to ACCA students for more than 20 years, for private sector colleges, and for ACCA Study Schools. He has also co-authored texts on Management Accounting for both ACCA and CIMA, and has many years experience in commerce of management accounting.So, he's the LCA management accounting 'guru' for any questions you may have!
Geoff Hughes FCA, FCCA

CAT Paper 8 - Implementing Audit Procedures
Geoff's 30 years of teaching experience in the accounting field spans chartered, certified and management accounting students, plus CPE/CPD courses given to qualified accountants and other accounting professionals in firms. He has also been responsible for conducting commissioned peer reviews of audit firms under the profession's regulatory requirements. His qualifying years were spent with a medium sized firm with a variety of private and listed company audit clients.
When he's not teaching, Geoff loves to be on holiday, both relaxing at home and jetting off to exotic places!
Michael Mainwaring MBA MSc

LCA is pleased to introduce Michael Mainwaring; new to the LCA lecturing team for 2005. Having gained his MBA back in the 1970s, Michael spent the early part of his career in management consultancy before deciding that lecturing was more what he wanted to do. A lecturer now for over 20 years, Michael has taught all over the world - in the Caribbean, India, Cyprus, Hong Kong, Eire and, most exotic of all, Walsall, although he now confines his overseas teaching to Singapore and Malaysia with the occasional dash of Mauritius. He specialises in teaching strategy on ACCA Paper 3.5 and on MBA courses and produces all his own study materials, including his not-to-be-missed 'Bluff Notes' which cover the syllabus in about 70 pages!
Fred Keer MSc

Fred has been teaching ACCA for more than 30 years and in that time has conducted courses for the ACCA in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Mauritius, Jamaica and Zambia. Whilst now firmly based in the UK he still finds time to fly out to Uganda to teach ACCA students and to enjoy a vacation on safari. He has published texts on financial accounting, management accounting and financial management. His simple philosophy is to enjoy life both inside and outside the classroom.
Tony Mock FCA

Lecturer for:
ACCA Paper F2 - Management Accounting
ACCA Paper P5 - Advanced Performance Management and Director of Internally Assessed Courses.
Over his many years as an accountancy lecturer, Tony has specialised in 'sums', teaching mainly management accounting and financial management. At LCA, he teaches on paper 1.2 and also supervises the Internally Assessed Courses for Part 1. Prior to joining the LCA team, Tony was a director with two of the other leading accountancy tuition providers in the market, and has had examiner responsibilities, both as an internal examiner on ACCA Part 1 and for other public examining bodies. Tony's extensive experience in accountancy tuition has been gained both here in the UK and also in various other parts of the world, so he will be able to greet you in many foreign tongues as you enter his classes!
Naraine Singh LLB Hons (London) Barrister

Naraine has almost 40 years experience teaching ACCA students. The majority of his experience was gained during his 22 years lecturing at the new universities in the public sector. He then joined AT Emile Woolf in 1987 to lecture to their ACCA students before starting at LCA in 2001. He also spent 10 years as Chief Examiner in legal aspects of Business and Advanced Commercial Law for The Royal Society of Art. When he's not helping ACCA students towards exam success, Naraine loves to sit down to watch the cricket or a little boxing.
Feroz Kassam-Kanji FCCA

ACCA Paper P2 - Corporate Reporting
Lunching and travelling to exotic places feature high on Feroz's spare time pleasures list, as does the creation of 'nouveau cuisine' delights for entertaining family and friends.
Feroz spent the first five years of his professional life with a medium sized accountancy firm focusing on audit, financial reporting and tax. Then in 1979 he moved across to the private tuition sector to lecture ACCA, CIMA and AAT students. He has also taught on MBA courses, and is co-author of two textbooks on Financial Reporting.
Nigel Grant FCCA

CAT Paper 3 - Maintaining Financial Records
Nigel is an experienced lecturer in ACCA, AAT and CAT, having taught on both public and private sector accountancy courses since 1995. He spent the years prior to this working as an accountant, and studying for a BSc Hons in Applied Chemistry and a PGCE. He joined LCA's team in 2001, and is also a marker for one of the key UK professional accountancy bodies.
Leisure time is spent poring over new technology gadgets, and going to the occasional football match.
Peter Keeling FCA

Peter is a Chartered Accountant with over twenty years experience in teaching ACCA, specialising in auditing, IT, accounting and information systems. Prior to joining the LCA team, Peter had his own business which provided the 'big four' and major international accountancy firms with ACCA training - this business is now part of LCA. Dianne Ramdeen

CAT Course Director and Lecturer for:
ACCA F5 - Performance Management
ACCA P4 -Advanced Financial Management
The youngest member of the team, Dianne raced through the ACCA syllabus and wrote her final exams at the age of 19. She is a past student of LCA and is delighted to find that her past lecturers are now her current colleagues. In her earlier years, Dianne spent a considerable amount of time in the family business gaining useful insights into the financial and structural aspects of running a company. This along with her passion for teaching makes her lectures both stimulating and thorough.
Outside the classroom, Dianne enjoys a good game of cricket (if the West Indies are winning!) and watching Formula 1 racing.
Dave Sexton FHEA

Dave spent several years as a group accountant before moving into lecturing over 15 years ago. Since then he has taught ACCA, and undergraduate and postgraduate students in management, strategy, and accounting. Dave was Head of Accounting at Anglia Ruskin University before joining LCA, and is an external examiner at University of Glamorgan and Nottingham Trent University. Dave remains the national examiner for strategy with CIPFA, and sits on a number of CIPFA education boards.
When not working, Dave loves rugby, tennis and all things physical.
John Webb MSc, FCCA, CPFA
Academic Director, Anglia Ruskin Programmes
After training as an accountant in the public services, John moved into education 20 years ago at the then Essex Institute of Higher Education. The first 10 years were spent managing a professional accounting course and he has since managed an international MBA, been a director of full-time postgraduate courses and headed the suite of professional programmes at Anglia Ruskin University.
John was part of the team that formed the Journal of Finance and Management in Public Services and is still part of the editorial board and conference team. John is also involved with ACCA and CIPFA accountancy assessments.
Outside of work John is an amateur genealogist and has traced family links back to the 16th Century. And then there is football – John is a long standing season ticket holder at 'the' great football club in the world (you'll have to talk to him directly if you're unsure which one he means!).
